The Stable Restaurant

Residents only

You can be sure of excellent food at The Blue Boar Inn. Our dishes are served in our brick floored stable restaurant — the table is yours for the evening as we do not believe in processing people. Sit back, relax and take your time.

We now have a pavilion for al fresco dining and drinking, and a newly converted stable restaurant. Whether dining inside or outdoors under the Norfolk sky, every visit is a delightful surprise.

Head Chef James

40 years experience · UK, Bermuda & Australia

At the Blue Boar Inn we don't like to shout about how good our freshly prepared food is – we let our many delighted customers do that for us.

Using only the very best of locally sourced ingredients, our Head Chef, James, is proud to showcase the very best that his home county has to offer.

However, 40 years experience gained all over the UK, Bermuda and Australia means that James' menus are anything but provincial.

Locally Sourced Food

It couldn't be more local if James had grown it all himself

  • • Fresh fruit and vegetables from local independent growers, markets and farm shops
  • • Pork from the farm shop right next door
  • • Award winning beef, locally reared at Binham
  • • Fresh mussels and crabs direct from the coastal village of Brancaster (in season)
  • • Free range eggs from our own hens in Great Ryburgh
  • • Herbs freshly picked from the Inn's own gardens

Seasonal specialities such as marsh samphire, asparagus, fish and game mean that, whether you choose to eat in our cosy bar, relaxing garden or stylish restaurant, every visit to The Blue Boar Inn will be a delightful surprise.

Breakfast

Every stay begins with a freshly cooked breakfast in our plant-filled breakfast room — cooked to order, with free-range eggs from our own hens and the best of Norfolk's local producers.

The Blue Boar Bar

The heart of a traditional country inn

The heart of every traditional country inn is said to be its bar and the Blue Boar is no exception. With its low beamed ceiling, expansive inglenook fireplace and cosy corners, the bar is the perfect place to while away the evening.

Guests are welcome to sample our selection of locally brewed real ales and fine wines in the comfortable surroundings of our 17th century bar, warmed by a roaring fire, or in the summer sunshine of our cottage garden.

Real Ales

Fine ales from Adnams, Greene King, Beeston Brewery and local micro-breweries

Wines & Seasonal Specials

The very best that East Anglia has to offer. Our selection changes with the seasons — we can't guarantee exactly what will be on offer when you visit, just that it will be a memory to treasure.
