The Blue Boar Inn
Environmental Policy
How we care for our corner of the North Norfolk countryside.
Our Commitment
As a small country inn set in the heart of the North Norfolk countryside, we care deeply about the landscape, wildlife, and community around us. We aim to run The Blue Boar Inn thoughtfully, reducing our impact on the environment wherever we reasonably can.
Local & Seasonal Sourcing
We buy locally and seasonally wherever possible, working with Norfolk growers, farmers, and suppliers to keep food miles low and support our local economy. Our eggs come from our own hens, and our menus change with what is fresh and in season.
Reducing Waste
We plan our menus and portions carefully to minimise food waste, compost where we can, and recycle glass, paper, and packaging. We avoid single-use plastics in favour of reusable and refillable alternatives.
Energy & Water
We use energy-efficient lighting and appliances, and encourage sensible use of heating, lighting, and water throughout the inn. Small daily choices — from linen changes on request to switching off in unused rooms — help us keep our footprint low.
Caring for Nature
Our garden and surroundings are a haven for local birds and wildlife, and we manage them with nature in mind. We are proud to share this peaceful, unspoilt corner of Norfolk with our guests and to help protect it for the future.
